A remarkable vintage Eberhard & Co. mechanical chronograph, Reference 31008, powered by the legendary Calibre 310-8. This historic movement was later known as Calibre 14000 and remained in production until the 1990s, making it an important part of Eberhard & Co.’s long chronograph tradition.
The watch features an impressive 38mm Jumbo case, crafted from 925 Sterling Silver. Its standard proportions give it a strong and elegant presence on the wrist, while the precious-metal case adds an unmistakable vintage character.
Having spent many years carefully preserved in a private collection, the watch has developed a beautiful natural silver patina, giving the case an authentic and highly desirable aged appearance. The patina has been preserved rather than polished away, allowing the watch to retain the character accumulated over decades.
An especially remarkable detail is the original factory protective film still attached to the caseback — a rare surviving feature that further reflects the exceptional preservation of this example.
Combining a legendary hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement, a substantial 38mm Sterling Silver case, beautiful natural patina, and original factory protection, this Eberhard & Co. Ref. 31008 is a particularly appealing piece for collectors of historic Swiss chronographs.
