At first glance, the watch captures attention with its classic aviation architecture, inspired by the monumental design of the Breitling Navitimer.
The Mondia Top Gun Chronograph is a watch that never goes out of style. It is the ideal choice for those who want to wear the aesthetics of the golden age of aviation on their wrist, feel the heartbeat of a Swiss mechanical caliber, and own a true piece of cinematic and historical vintage.
In the modern vintage watch market, the Mondia Top Gun Chronograph is considered a so-called “Smart Buy.” It offers exactly the same visual design and mechanical reliability as premium aviation chronographs valued at thousands of dollars, but at a much more affordable price.
To fully appreciate the value of the Top Gun series, we must look back at the brand’s own past. Mondia was founded in Switzerland in 1935 by Paul Vermot. The brand made a name for itself through innovative approaches and reliability, but the golden age of its history began in 1969.
It was in that very year that Mondia merged with giants such as Zenith and Movado, forming the MZM (Movado-Zenith-Mondia) holding company. This alliance gave Mondia access to top-tier technologies and design resources. It was precisely during the period under Zenith’s patronage (and afterward) that models such as the Top Gun chronographs were created, acquiring the premium touches that continue to make them stand out to this day.
